Our Work is where the Eng. Kateeba Foundation’s vision becomes reality. This page provides a comprehensive overview of our five key focus areas—Community Empowerment, Environmental Conservation, Sports and Games Development, Financial Literacy and Inclusion, and Mindset Change—and showcases the tangible results of our mission. Each section is a testament to our commitment to creating sustainable, community-led solutions that uplift lives and foster a brighter future for the Tooro region of Western Uganda.
Community Empowerment:
We believe the most effective solutions are those that come from within. Our community empowerment programs provide practical skills and resources, from vocational training in tailoring and carpentry to agricultural best practices. We empower local leaders and youth groups, helping them develop their own initiatives and become catalysts for change.
What We Do:
Vocational training, mentorship programs, leadership workshops, and support for community-led projects.

Environmental Conservation:
The health of our communities is directly linked to the health of our environment. Our environmental programs focus on educating and mobilizing communities to protect their natural resources. Our initiatives include large-scale tree-planting drives, waste management and recycling programs, and campaigns to raise awareness about climate change and sustainable living.
What We Do:
Tree-planting campaigns, environmental education, and promotion of sustainable agricultural practices.
Sports and Games Development:
Beyond physical activity, sports build character, teamwork, and resilience. We use sports to engage youth and foster positive social development. By supporting local sports teams, organizing tournaments, and building community sports facilities, we provide a safe and constructive outlet for young people and bring communities closer together.
What We Do:
Support for local sports clubs, organization of community tournaments, and development of sports infrastructure.

Financial Literacy and Inclusion:
Financial independence is a cornerstone of self-reliance. We equip community members with essential financial skills, from basic budgeting to saving and investing. Our flagship project, the Busoro-Rwenjagu SACCO, is a testament to our commitment to financial inclusion, providing a secure and accessible platform for members to access credit and build their savings.
What We Do:
Financial literacy workshops, support for community savings groups, and development of cooperative societies.
Mindset Change and Capacity Building:
Sustainable development begins with a shift in perspective. We challenge communities to move from a dependency mindset to one of proactivity and innovation. Our capacity-building programs, including workshops and mentorship, help individuals and groups unlock their full potential and find creative, long-term solutions to their challenges.
What We Do:
Empowerment workshops, skills training, and inspirational seminars.
